Deputy Nursery Manager
Supporting Strong Leadership
The Deputy Nursery Manager will support the Nursery Manager with the effective day-to-day running of the nursery and help ensure that children receive high-quality care, education and support.
Responsibilities
- Support the Nursery Manager
- Support the daily running of the nursery
- Support implementation of the EYFS
- Support safeguarding and child protection
- Support staff and room teams
- Maintain high standards of care and education
- Support children’s learning and developmen
- Build positive relationships with parents and carers
- Support staff supervision and development
- Assist with policies and procedures
- Support health and safety
- Support Ofsted readiness
- Support inclusion and SEND provision
- Contribute to continuous improvement
SENDCO Training
The Deputy Nursery Manager will need appropriate SENDCO training/knowledge or undertake SENDCO training as part of their professional development.
Senior Early Years Practitioner
Supporting Learning, Development & Inclusion
The Senior Early Years Practitioner will be an experienced member of the nursery team who supports children’s learning, development, and wellbeing.

- Support planning and assessment

SENDCO Training
The Senior Early Years Practitioner will need appropriate SENDCO training/knowledge or undertake SENDCO training as part of their professional development.
Early Years Practitioner
Caring, Supporting & Inspiring Young Minds
Early Years Practitioners work directly with children aged *6 months–5 years*, supporting their care, learning, development and wellbeing.

Cleaner / Cleaning Operative
Keeping Lakera Clean, Safe & Welcoming
Our Cleaner/Cleaning Operative will play an important role in maintaining a clean, hygienic and welcoming environment for children, families and staff.
Responsibilities
- Clean nursery rooms
- Clean learning areas
- Clean toilets
- Clean changing areas
- Clean communal areas
- Clean high-touch surfaces
- Follow cleaning schedules
- Maintain hygiene standards
- Safely handle and store cleaning products
- Manage waste appropriately
- Report maintenance or health and safety concerns
- Help maintain a safe and welcoming nursery environment
SENDCO Training
SENDCO training is not required for the cleaner position*, as this is not a childcare or educational role.
The cleaner will still be subject to the appropriate safer recruitment and suitability procedures for the position.

Our Sensory Room provides a calm and supportive space where children can explore sensory experiences.
It can include:
- Light
- Colour
- Sound
- Texture
- Movement
- Visual stimulation
- Tactile experiences
- Cause-and-effect activities
- Calm spaces
Sensory experiences can support children’s exploration, engagement, and wellbeing.
The room can be particularly helpful for children who benefit from additional sensory support, including some children with SEND.
Sensory experiences are adapted to individual children’s needs and use of the room is appropriately supervised.
