ACACIA ROOM
Toddlers | 2 – 3 Years
Growing Independence. Discovering the World.
Welcome to our Acacia Room.
The toddler years are a time of incredible development. Children are becoming increasingly independent, developing communication, forming friendships, learning to manage emotions and discovering more about the world around them.
Our Acacia Room provides a stimulating environment where children can explore, communicate, make choices and develop their growing independence.

Physical Development: Developing movement, coordination, strength and independence.
Personal, Social & Emotional Development: Developing confidence, friendships, emotional understanding and self-regulation.
We also provide opportunities for:
- Early literacy

- Expressive Arts & Desig
Two-Year Progress Check
Around the age of two, children have a progress check which focuses on the three prime areas of the EYFS:
Communication & Language
Physical Development
Personal, Social & Emotional Development
The purpose is to build a clear picture of each child’s development, celebrate their strengths and identify where additional support may be helpful.
It is not about comparing children with one another. Every child develops at their own pace. We work closely with parents and, where appropriate, other professionals to support each child’s development.
Growing in Confidence
The toddler years are about discovering:
I can do it!
We give children opportunities to try, explore, communicate, make choices and develop their confidence.
